Child Safety

St Paul's Primary School (SPPS) is committed to providing a child safe environment where all children and young people are safe and feel safe, and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives. We have robust human resources and recruitment practices in place for all staff and volunteers. Our school is committed to regularly training and educating our staff and volunteers on child abuse risks.  We are committed to the cultural safety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, the cultural safety of students from a culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, to providing a safe environment for vulnerable students and students with a disability. SPPS has specific policies, procedures and training in place that supports our leadership team, staff and volunteers to achieve these commitments. 

At St Paul’s Primary School we want students to be safe, happy and empowered. We support and respect all students, as well as our staff and volunteers.  We are committed to the safety, participation and empowerment of all students. There is zero tolerance of any child abuse, and all allegations and safety concerns will be treated very seriously and consistently with our robust policies and procedures. We meet our legal and moral obligations to contact authorities when we are worried about a child’s safety, which we follow rigorously.​

SPPS operates with the consent of the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Ballarat and is owned, operated and governed by Diocese of Ballarat Catholic Education Limited (DOBCEL).
